Ex: You set a password in the software and save a file. The next time when you open the file the software asks you the password and checks it with the earlier password you set and if the password match then it grant you access. Now there are serious flaw in this kind of security:The password (may be also encrypted) is stored by the software and is always available for stealing and to be cracked. Anyone who has a little knowledge of cracking can steal the password and run it through a brute force cracking software. The moment software checks the password you have entered, with the one it has stored, it is most vulnerable for an attack. There are many software which can read through computer memory. All a person has to do is launch such a software and wait till the encryption software checks the password. At this point the person can easily see that what he should enter to gain the access.What we have explained above is not a very uncommon scenario.
